Trimplants has been trading for over 30 years and is a well established small family business.
We specialise in a wide range of plants all propagated and grown by hand in a peat free environment. We are one of the few nurseries who have experimented with different growing mediums and sustainable substrates over the past 10+ years and have now implemented peat free growing media across the full production cycle of our plants.
We are now also incorporating biochar into our mixes to support healthy plants, aeration of roots and carbon sequestration. Over time every plant leaving our nursery will contain organic biochar around it's roots helping to build microbial networks in our depleted soils one plant at a time.
We grow a wide range of different plant varieties for wholesale hardy nursery stock liners and young plants for clients who will grow them on. We have over the past few years specialised in growing plants for green walls and flood relief projects.
Our nursery is nestled in an ancient valley on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, 2 miles from the A303 in the beautiful village of Combe Raleigh, close to Honiton in Devon.
As a wholesale nursery, we are not open to the public for general sale, unless by appointment or on our Blackdown Hills Eco Hub Event days.
We supply growers throughout the UK and work with many specialists including landscapers, public gardens, green wall installers, builders, nurseries, rewilding projects and retailers.
We grow specific plants (including native plants in decline), to order as part of our contract business.
We encourage our customers to choose our trays or pot-free range of plants when possible.
Our range of shrubs, herbaceous, climbers and grasses are sold in containers although these are limited.
Trimplants provides a wide range of plants to ensure that you have a low maintenance, thriving, sustainable vertical garden. We work with expert installers and are happy to advise on solutions.
We are situated close to the Devon/Somerset border on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, surrounded by villages, small farms and a rich ancient heritage. Our landscape is made up of small fields and hedgerows that support a rich and diverse ecosystem. We are conscious of our exceptional surroundings, it is important for us to maintain a good balance of protecting the surrounding wildlife and regenerating our soil, so our land continues to thrive for future generations.
We put huge effort into ensuring we work with and not against nature and use organic methods (including peat free compost) and sustainable products for growing our plants and for pest control.
We will not compromise nature for profit and live by our values.
We run a number of workshops at the Blackdown Hills Eco Hub located at Trimplants. As from April we've launched our new community food growing group who meet every Wednesday and Saturday from 10:00 - 12:00 hrs. More biochar making days will be organised throughout the Summer.
